LCL Local Charges
Updated: October 20, 2025
General information
- The buyer must settle the full balance before the cargo is released at the destination.
- Buyer is responsible for all local charges, import duties, customs clearance, port charge, any surcharge, BAF, CISF, etc.
- Each case is different due to the amount of volume and type of goods involved.
- Charges are subject to change without notice.
- Consult with your local agent for the actual charges.
- The Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF) is a surcharge to cover changes in the price of shipping fuel. It’s added to the ocean freight rate to account for the fuel that will be used during transit. This allows carriers to adjust their rates based on changes in fuel prices. BAF will be known once the cargo arrives at destination.
- How to calculate RT? This is the calculated volume after proportionate conversion, such as 1:500. The volume is 1 cubic meter (CBM), with a gross weight of 600 kilograms (KG). 600/500 = 1.2 CBM. The billing volume (RT) is 1.2 CBM.
