• The Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF) is a surcharge to cover changes in the price of shipping fuel. It’s added to the ocean freight rate to account for the fuel that will be used during transit. This allows carriers to adjust their rates based on changes in fuel prices. BAF will be known once the cargo arrives at destination.
• How to calculate RT? This is the calculated volume after proportionate conversion, such as 1:500. The volume is 1 cubic meter (CBM), with a gross weight of 600 kilograms (KG). 600/500 = 1.2 CBM. The billing volume (RT) is 1.2 CBM.
